Face masks have become the new trend due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, despite its popularity, not everyone knows how to properly use their face masks. Lakeside Pharmacy is here to talk about the face mask etiquette for both reusable and disposable masks.
The use of disposable face masks you get from our retail pharmacy is straightforward. Both the surgical masks and the N95 masks have to properly be disposed of and replaced regularly. This means that after a trip outdoors, reusing the same face mask the next day is a “no-no”.
If you have been sneezing the whole morning or your face mask somehow got wet/damp, replace it immediately. This prevents bacteria build-up. This is not the time to be frugal, disposable face masks are called “disposable” for a reason. If you’re running low, you can always drop by our Pharmacy in North Carolina to buy more.
Reusable masks, on the other hand, are usually made out of cloth and can be cleaned through washing. Just like the disposable masks, reusable ones also have to be swapped with a new face mask the next day, or as often as needed. The only difference is that you can sanitize reusable masks by washing them with detergent soap.
If you want to save a few dollars, then opt for reusable face masks. Just be sure to buy 3 – 5 pieces to cover you for the whole week. Don’t know where to buy it? Not to worry. Our Independent Pharmacy in Huntersville, North Carolina, has those in stock too.
